“But one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.
And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne’ (Revelation 5:5-7).
For your eternal goodness a
nd your abundant living on earth, Jesus the Mighty Warrior, the Son of the Living God known as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, prevailed against all enemies, adversaries, tests and trials, so that He would be worthy to be our Savior, our Redeemer, our everlasting Champion.
While on earth, He walked and taught with authority (Matthew 7:9). Out of His authority He has given the believers authority in His name. Authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, and live a holy life.
Not only has He given us authority, but His power is at work in us to do great exploit. In Ephesians chapter 3 and verse 20, the Apostle Paul declares: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
In order for us to have eternal life, Jesus had to give up His life like a slaughtered lamb. the Prophet Isaiah affirms this by saying, “He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth” (Isaiah 53:7).
The Lion of Judah bravely decided to die like a lamb, so that those who believe and trust in Him might be bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1).
Wouldn’t it be nice to be as powerful as Jesus is and as humble as He was on earth? Actually, with the authority He has given you and His power that is in you, you are as powerful as He is. The Apostle John says, “As He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).
You have the capacity to terrorize your spiritual adversaries and to love your human enemies (Ephesians 6:12). Simply, be mindful that inside of you lives Jesus Christ by His Spirit, the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God that was slain.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us despite our wickedness. Thank you for becoming human being in the Person of Your Son Jesus Christ. Thank You that He took our sins upon Him, He became sin for us, and we have now receive His righteousness.
We are as bold as a lion and as meek as a lamb.
In Jesus name.
